Scottish television journalist. Sparky, ambitious, and attractive, Gail has developed a tough exterior in order to deal with the sexism and criticism she faces in the course of her work in the media. As well as being able to turn on the charm for work, she has a genuine underlying warmth and humanity which can conflict with her overzealous professional drive.

About the series:
“Watch Over Me” IV focuses on a fictional local television news station as it reports on a community under pressure - Brockfield, and in particular the rivalry between Union Street Estate and Parkside Estate. The drama series will highlight the numerous and various issues confronting people in communities like Brockfield and bring to life some of the decisions and dilemmas they face on a daily basis. Using engaging and realistic characters to provide a window into a difficult world, “Watch Over Me” IV will present slices of life that can offer guidance, insight and hope to people still working out their own strategies for survival.
Twelve months ago, Brockfield was the site of a particularly senseless murder. A sixteen year-old boy from the local further eduction college was stabbed to death in an unprovoked attack. The case is about to go to trial and although murder is a rarity, even in Brockfield, it seems to encapsulate the poor reputation the area has. The drama explores the devastating effect an event like this has on family, friends and a wider community.
